To ensure the integrity of a Bookkeeper’s knowledge, a Bookkeeper should hold certifications to substantiate their skill levels, and to become fully knowledgeable of all fiduciary protocols and GAAP accounting procedures. Usually, a minimum of three certifications are required: The first two are Certified Public Bookkeeper and Certified Public Payroll Bookkeeper credentials. These two certifications are issued by the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers (NACPB).
The third certification, Certified QuickBooks Online Advisor, is issued by Intuit Corporation. This certification will train you on how to effectively understand and use the QuickBooks Online Accountant application.
Training courses and certification exams are available online. The costs to acquire these credentials is relatively low, and you can conveniently study at home using a desktop or laptop computer.
Additional certifications are available that can increase your skills and knowledge base, which can substantially enhance your income potential.
